My Answers to Kait’s Questions

  • What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Glad you asked! My blog’s current name was one of the four or five names I short-listed while deciding on a new name for my blog. Previously it was called ‘Literary Tea With ER’, the name combined my love for tea and literature and also included my initials. While this was a good name, I wanted my blog’s name to be more unique and hence I came up with ‘Musings of a Confuzzled Reader’. Musings meaning a period of reflection or thought signify the thought process behind my posts be it reviews, discussions or other random stuff you see on here. Confuzzled is the comination of two words Confused and Puzzled, because I am eternally confused and puzzled not only about the words to include in my posts but also about my life and decisions. Reader is my identity on the internet. There it is! The explanation of my blog name πŸ™‚
  • Dog person, cat person, neither or both?
Neither! Any living creature that’s not a human scares the bejeebers out of me and I am not kidding! Leave me alone with one of these and you will see me wreck havoc in the whole wide earth.
  • If you could own any animal as a pet without harming it or people around you, what would you pick and why?
    Fictional? Unicorn!
    Real? Horse!
  • What is your favourite book from childhood?
‘The Silver Chair’ by C. S. Lewis and ‘Hurrah for the Circus’ by Enid Blyton.
  • Do you have a place you like to go to de-stress after a long/tough day?
Nope, except my bed, there isn’t a specific place where I like to go de-stress. Though, I would love to be at the seaside at dawn. That’s a natural stress- bursting sight.
  • What would be the perfect book for you? I’m talking plot, genre, characters, themes, diversity, the whole shebang.
I have thought about this topic often. The perfect book for me would be the one that has an ingenious plot and probably from the Dystopian or Fantasy genre. I love characters that are given enough time to develop and are really layered, it would also be interesting if they have a mysterious element to them and are not an open book. I would like to read more stories true to reality with the female protagonist talking about issues we face: pimples to periods. I need a strong female lead, one who doesn’t need to depend on a man, one who ‘wants’ love, not ‘need’ it. And of course, I would love to see more Asian and Muslim characters who truly represent us and are not made to conform to Western culture in order to be accepted.
  • Do you have any sort of comfort item (for example, a stuffed animal, a favorite blanket, a book, a particular music album, etc.)?
Not really, but I do love listening to the recitation of Holy Quran by Abdur-Rehman Al Sudais. His voice is very soothing.
  • Hot weather or Cold weather?
Definitely Cold! No sweat for me please!
  • What’s the goofiest way you injured yourself?
It’s been a long time since I injured myself πŸ˜€ The last time I remember being close to getting an injury was when I fell off a motorbike in the middle of the road with a car right behind me! Thank God the traffic lights just turned green at that moment and the vehicles hadn’t actually started moving!
  • If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would love to have the ability to read people’s minds! Invisibility and all those powers are cool, but imagine how the world would be when we stop worrying about what people actually think about us and can just read their minds! Although that might create a whole new set of troubles, it would nevertheless be fun!
  • Are there any particular goals (personal, book, blog, etc) that you have for the rest of 2018?
A couple of days back, I sat down and wrote a goal of achieving 500 followers by the end of 2018 on my blog and a 1000 on twitter. My personal goal is to learn Arabic and take up a few online courses.

I nominate…

Ella @The Bookish Goddess

Claire @Clair-e-fy

Bird On A Shelf

Sifa @Sifa Elizabeth Reads

Lili @Lili’s Blissful Pages

Amanda @Write Where I Read

Mary @Coffee, Books and Cakes

Sara @The Bibliophagist

Nora @This Quarter Life

Erica @Living A Hundred Lives

Cassandra @The Bibliophagist

As always, no compulsions! If you want to do it, well and good! If not, then that would be fine too.

  1. I’m a cold weather person as well! Only because I can curl up under blankets and BECOME warm, haha. I would love to read minds as well, but I can’t imagine having ALL thoughts running through my head at all times – it would definitely help with figuring people out though, so that would be nice.

Good luck reaching 500 followers on your blog and 1000 on Twitter! I believe in you!

    1. Hah, the same reason I love cold weather πŸ˜€ Selective reading of mind would benefit us all honestly! And thanks for believing in me Soph ❀

  2. Wow, I didn’t know that this was your second blog name! How long ago did you change it? Was it a total pain to change everything? Anyways, I loved reading this post – these tags are so fun because it really allows us readers to get to know the blogger a bit. I am totally the kind of person who prefers cold too – I hate sweating so much! Anyways, sorry for my jumbled comment!

    1. Haha, my comments are almost always jumbled!

It wasn’t a total pain then as I changed it when I guess there were still around 100 followers and the number of posts was significantly lower than now. I didn’t change all graphics nor the format of the posts. Some posts still have post banners that say LTWER, the acronym of my previous blog’s name. I didn’t want to change my old posts because they kind of show my growth over time, I hope it makes sense.

Yes, I love these tags too! Will you be okay with being tagged in future posts?

  3. Your goals for the rest of 2018(learning a new language and take online course) are my next year’s goals. hehe. And Oh my God, thankfully the lights turned green when you got in the accident.
Again thank you for nominating me. I will do this very soon., πŸ™‚

    1. Hehe! They are sort of ‘ongoing’ goals’. I most probably won’t be able to complete them this year itself. And yes, it was a very close brush. The lights had just turned green, so the traffic just started firing up their engines and hadn’t moved πŸ˜€

  4. Congrats on the third time nomination! I’ll have to schedule my post in two weeks since I’ve got a lot of other posts coming out – but I’ll make sure to tag you so you can see my answers too. Thanks a bunch hun. xx
